Social Bite is on a mission to bring Scotland together, to build a collaborative movement to end homelessness.
Founded in 2012, Social Bite has grown from one sandwich shop on Rose Street, Edinburgh, to a total of five cafes, a high-end restaurant and a nationwide “Housing First” programme, all aimed at getting hundreds of people off the streets and into homes of their own.
Visited by stars including Leonardo DiCaprio and George Clooney, Social Bite has seen huge growth over the last six years. However, when Josh originally started trading, he soon realised that whilst they had plenty of customers coming in to the café, they simply weren’t making money.
Josh takes us on the journey of how he launched and grew Social Bite, including why he founded a social enterprise and how he dealt with everyday issues such as staffing and cash flow.
